Meet your team
Sophie is our founder, a highly qualified Chartered Financial Planner and Registered Life Planner, driven by making a positive difference to clients' lives and being proud of the work we do for them.
When first contemplating studying financial planning, Sophie was told (by a financial adviser, no less) that she was "too clever to be an IFA", which she took as a compliment and decided to do it anyway, earning distinctions in numerous areas, progressing to Chartered status and achieving the Registered Life Planner title. Aside from her technical expertise, clients choose to work with her because she immediately makes money matters more human and clearly cares deeply about helping people live life to the full.
Sophie has always disliked the shiny-suited sales focus in much of financial services and over the years tried to work for companies that would allow her to provide meaningful advice and forge long-term relationships. After working within other advice firms for 10 years, she established Cleverly Planned to have control over delivering the highest level of personal service and quality advice to her clients for many years to come.
Outside Cleverly Planned, you will likely find her at the front row of a gig, wandering around a Greek island with her binoculars or riding the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway with a pint.
If you'd like to speak with Sophie, she'd be pleased to hear from you. You can email her here.
Ben works closely with Sophie, providing support with all the technical aspects of building and maintaining robust financial plans for our clients.
He spends a lot of his time undertaking analysis and research, as well as preparing reports and modelling scenarios to cover every eventuality, so you can sleep easy knowing your ideal life is supported by an accurate and meaningful plan that's regularly tested and updated.
Ben is committed to ensuring that our clients receive the very best service. He’s always on hand to sort out anything you need or answer any questions you may have and he enjoys being able to translate seemingly complex financial matters into simple terms you can really understand.
As you’d expect, Ben is highly qualified and has a wealth of industry experience. He holds the Diploma in Financial Planning, the professional benchmark qualification for financial advisers, as well as highly specialised certificates in pension transfer advice and discretionary investment management. He’s currently studying for the advanced diploma in financial planning and aims to be achieve Chartered Financial Planner status in 2020.
Away from Cleverly Planned (when he's not studying, of course), you’ll find Ben on trips abroad, exploring new places, or at home with a glass of wine.
If you'd like to speak with Ben, he'd be happy to help. You can email him here.
Our Cleverly Planned team is small but perfectly formed. We know our strengths and we work to them, to make sure you get maximum value from our service. We made the decision to be part of Sense Network, to enable us to combine the benefits of being a boutique firm with the resources and knowledge base of a much larger company. Sense help us to stay fiercely independent and provide us with support on compliance, training and development, regulatory changes and investment research, to free up more of our time to spend with you.
